     2024 Adopt-A-Box

Our 2024 Adopt-a-Box campaign was more than successful! Each year we plan
to at least be able to provide some much needed care items for the shelters... and each year we are over-
whelmed with the generosity provided by so many donations from congregations, businesses and individu-
als. Over 650+ prepared boxes and bags along with additional donations were given to shelters and those
in need.
Our committee works tirelessly to organize, pack and distribute all the donations to the shelters for pick-up
or delivery. As you can see from the included photos, this project is driven by dedication, care and love to help
others. Thank you for all your support and donations, thank you St. Bartholomew's Episcopal Church for
hosting once again and Thank you to a great team of dedicated volunteers!

the first lap, specialty candy bags donated by Rhoda Wus after the second lap, pretzels donated by J & J
Snacks after the third lap, and wonderful stuffed animals donated by lots of supporters after the 4th lap.

A special thanks to our hundreds of Benefactors, Sponsors of Walkers, the actual Walkers,

Spring Thing @ St. Michael's Lutheran Church

St. Michael's hosted the "Spring Thing Get Together" for Network and Transitional Housing participants.  Many program graduates and coordinators showed up and reconnected over sandwiches and pizza.

The highlight of the event was the sundae bar, with lots of ice cream and toppings.  This was followed up by several games of bingo and prizes.  Manuel, Sonya and Cora were among the big winners.

Thanks to Ruth and Sonya for getting this great event together!

Mentor Night @ Collingswood Diner

November's mentor night was a great one - a night out at the diner!  The group enjoyed a very good meal at Collingswood Diner on Crescent Boulevard.  The food and service were excellent, and we all vowed to return.  Thanks so much to staff at the diner for making this a truly memorable night!

These events are an important part of IHOC’s mission – as we seek to be a part of these men’s lives after they graduate from the program. Thanks to all those who attended! We look forward to future events like this!

Gloucester Catholic High School

IHOC graduates visited Gloucester Catholic High School to discuss their experiences with homelessness.  A group of ten young ladies, part of a group focusing on the problem of homelessness, gathered for a Q&A session before spending the night sleeping outdoors.  They asked excellent questions and received some very honest answers.  All involved learned a great deal, and we salute these students for their interest and commitment to learning about the experiences of others.

IHOC Annual Dinner @ St. Mary's

A great time was had by all at our Annual Dinner. For the first time in two years, the event was held live.  It was great to see many new and old faces.

Attendees heard from program graduates Bill and Milton, both of whom illustrated the difference that IHOC has played in their lives. We also enjoyed an amazing performance by Kevin Peterson, who was joined by his wife for a rendition of Marvin Gaye and Tammy Terrell's "Ain't No Mountain High Enough".  It brought the house down!

Special thanks to Jean Astmann, The Catholic Church of St. Mary, Ruth Morgenroth, Joan Nehlig, Kevin Peterson, Tis So Sweet Bakery, Tortilla Press, Charles Van Horn, Paula Williamson and Rhoda Wus.
